Some chess associations in Tamil Nadu that receive crores of rupees of tax payers money through government grants are indulging in breaking the sense of brotherhood among the chess playing fraternity and polarizing the chess playing tax payers who play in competitions of their choice that are not affiliated to the chess associations.

Conducting a chess competition with or without affiliation to any chess association is the Legal Right of the organizer. But some jealous and money greedy office bearers of chess associations who want to ensure that they get 10% levy from chess organizers by getting affiliation of the chess competitions who used to phone up chess players and threaten them for taking part in competitions not affiliated to the association have began sending SMS messages to chess players asking them not to play in AFFILIATION FREE competitions. Apart from this some chess brochures are coming out with the threatening words "those who played in unauthorized competitions..." contaminating the chess brochures. With this evil act the associations that are receiving tax payer's money, are polarizing the chess playing fraternity and causing break in chess brotherhood.

The constitutional bye laws of most of the chess associations in Tamil Nadu is understood to be containing the following lines:

"To promote the game of Chess to inculcate a sense of discipline amongst the players, to increase their proficiency, to foster brotherhood among the players and to promote a chess culture"

Instead of following what some chess associations should be doing as per their constitutional bye laws they are doing the opposite of it by disturbing the brotherhood among players and causing polarization of players and spoiling the chess culture of Tamil Nadu. They use the derogatory word "unauthorized" to refer to the tournaments not affiliated to them and to make participation in AFFILIATION FREE competitions wrongly appear to look like a grave offence.

The chess competition organizers who print such chess brochures are those who have affiliated their competition to some association and are enslaved to print such despicable lines in chess competition brochures.

Such SMS / chess competition brochures containing such derogatory words have surfaced in the districts of Erode, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi etc.

Kindly sign the petition and make it known that you wish to change the disturbing of brotherhood by the chess associations and end this polarization of chess players through spreading guilt and phobia via such anti competitive acts of chess associations.

With signing this petition we request the Sports Authority of Tamil Nadu to conduct an investigation into the above given anti competitive atrocities being committed by the chess associations and if found true, to suspend the grants being allowed to chess associations in tax payers money that have disturbed the brotherhood of chess and also to order all chess associations that are found to be spoiling the chess culture in Tamil Nadu to vacate their offices that are running on sports stadium premises built on tax payers' money.
