Amelia Clark is the current Administrative Officer of the Spokane Regional Health District (holding the position since September 2019) and on Friday 10/30/2020 she called for the resignation of Dr. Bob Lutz, Spokane County Public Health Officer. Her grounds for this are still unclear, citing a "performance issue". In a press conference on that same Friday, Clark was not providing any factual information to the media or any viewers in relation to her calling for Dr. Lutz's resignation. This frustrated many county residents as they feel issues related to public health should be transparent. Many community members feel Clark has recklessly abused her power in calling for the resignation of the County's Public Health Officer amidst the current pandemic. 

Dr. Bob Lutz has been the Public Health Officer for Spokane County since 2008. In his time with the Spokane Regional Health District, he has worked to protect and serve Spokane County in all aspects related to health. He continues to lead our county through the pandemic using facts and statistics to guide the most evidenced based safety protocol related to COVID-19. Without Dr. Lutz as our Health Officer, our county will have no local leadership advocating for our community at state and national levels. 

This petition is calling for the Spokane County Board of Health to terminate Amelia Clark as the Administrative Officer for the Spokane Regional Health District.
