As a father of two young children living in East Molesey, I know first-hand how limited our local options are for safe and affordable water play. Many parents like myself find it difficult or impossible to travel to Weybridge for their children to enjoy outdoor water play due to bad transportation links. This leaves our children with very few opportunities to enjoy the benefits of water play, which is essential for their physical and social development.

A splash pad in East Molesey would provide a much-needed recreational facility for young families in our community. Not only would it offer a safe and fun environment for children to cool down during the warmer months, but it would also be a valuable community space where families can gather and socialise. This addition would greatly enhance the quality of life in our area, fostering a sense of community while promoting healthy and active lifestyles.

Elmbridge Borough Council has invested in similar projects throughout the region, recognising the importance of accessible recreational facilities. Therefore, we urge Elmbridge Borough Council to commit to the installation of a splash pad in East or West Molesey.
