Restore Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante

Restore Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante
The Issue
I've lived in Utah all my life. Our state has its problems, but I always took pride in the fact that we cared for our environment and cherished the natural beauty around us. That is until December 4, 2017, when President Donald J. Trump signed several proclamations reducing Bears Ears National Monument by 80 percent, and cutting Grand Staircase-Escalante in half.
I, and many others, felt betrayed, not only by our president, but by our own state. Many people tried to stop this at the time. Outdoor Retailer left Utah, taking with it a large chunk of our economy, and yet leaders of the state continued with their plans to open the monuments to fracking and other environmental damage. However, now that our state has a new governor, and our country a new president, I believe we need to make our voices heard once again.
The desecration of these monuments was an affront to the environment, to our state's natural beauty, and to the people of Utah. This new administration has the power to restore what has been taken from us, they just need to realize that it's what the people want. People of Utah, people of America, I ask you to stand with me in taking back what was stolen from us, and preserving our national heritage.
