I am looking for support from my fellow neighbors in the Winborne Neighborhood to address an issue our neighborhood has developed. My Dad bought his house in this neighborhood over a decade ago. Since his passing, my wife and I are growing our family there now. I witness numerous children riding their bikes up and down the sidewalk and playing throughout the neighborhood. The speeding along Grayland Rd has gotten out of control. I witnessed someone fly by me in excess of 45 mph and it is far from an isolated incident. It has gotten so uncontrolled, even UPS and Fedex routinely speed through the neighborhood. It only takes one mistake at those speeds to severely injure someone, or worse. Being a first responder, I have seen first hand what happens when this kind of carelessness goes unchecked. I care about all of our families' safety and our children. I wish for the Winborne Neighborhood to remain a safe and family friendly environment for all of us. This purpose of this petition is to show majority support from the neighborhood to conduct a speed analysis and install speed humps along the stretch of Grayland Rd. I ask you to consider this because it isn't about me just being a disgruntled homeowner. It's about the safety of the young children that routinely walk and play along the sidewalks of our neighborhood. Thank you.
