We, the undersigned members of Islandbridge, are writing to formally request the installation of speed bumps and red light camera on the Islandbridge section of the South Circular Road.

Our concern arises from the fact that drivers and cyclists frequently run red lights at the pedestrian crossing in this area. This crossing is heavily used by children attending Safari Childcare in Clancy Quay and Inchicore Gaelscoil. Many parents, often accompanied by children on bikes and scooters, use this route daily.

There have been several near misses at this crossing, and after speaking with other parents, we have learned that many have had similar experiences. There is a growing concern within the community about the safety of this crossing, and we believe that speed bumps and an automatic red light camera could be an effective measure to slow down traffic and enhance pedestrian safety.
