Mr. Strukenberg should be held fully accountable for his inhumanity and neglect of the animals of Van Wert County.  He is no ordinary citizen.  He was the very man hired by taxpayers AND the Humane Society to protect and serve defenseless animals.  He should therefore be held to a higher standard under the law.  To plea felony charges down to misdemeanors (in this case) is to completely disregard Strunkenberg's dereliction of duty, to minimize the severity of his offenses, and to act directly against the wishes of the people.
