It was a great weekend at the State Summer Games for Special Olympics Ohio at The Ohio State University campus area and all the competitors gave it their all throughout the weekend. The events contested were Athletics (Track), Bowling, Gymnastics (Artistic and Rhythmic), Powerlifting, Soccer, Tennis, and Volleyball. The sports that need to return to the State Summer Games are Aquatics (Swimming-Long Course-50 meters) at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and Roller Skating at United Skates of America or Skate Zone 71 because other people and myself miss those sports at the Games. I won a Bronze Medal in Bowling with scores of 113 twice with total of 226 and I was hard on myself and could have more bowled much better, but it was an off day for me and I am happy that I did my best and got a Bronze out it. The competition place Bowlero Columbus (formerly AMF Sawmill Lanes) served lunch with Cheese Pizza, Chicken Tenders with BBQ sauce, and Fries with Ketchup, and Regular Pepsi. The lunch was a huge upgrade and delicious. Their computer servers were down and concessions could not take any money, but did give pitchers of water and happy to get my water to keep hydrated. I need not to be upset with myself.  I will still keep practicing to get better and will get my first 300 game one day. I enjoyed being my coach Mandy Wilkins for the weekend and a great fun lady to be with and her coach partner Jason Burke. I was upset that they were not serving Snickers Ice Cream Bars after Saturday dinner, but was pleasantly surprised that they had it after all at the dance at the RPAC (Recreation and Physical Activity Center) and that was cherry on top that made the weekend more fun.

However, I am not giving up on "Returning the State Swim Meet for Special Olympics Ohio back to Columbus, Ohio" with over 700 signatures and "Reinstating Regional Bowling Tournament Qualifiers for Special Olympics Ohio" having 80+ signatures because Special Olympics Ohio made too many mistakes in cutting sports and programs that helped raise money for the organization before and in 2019 when they made changes that affected the fabric of the athletes, coaches, unified partners, volunteers, families, and providers; they could have made them in a much slower pace.

I watch Opening Cermonies at the Speical Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany the other weekend on ABC. I did get watch lots of the Swimming on ESPN 3 on the app and transferred to my Smart TV, while watching Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Soccer, Track, Powerlifting, and more. Special Olympics USA did very well along with other countries and host Germany got lots of medals in their homeland. Lots of inspirational athletes and stories from the Berlin games.

Overall, it was a fun weekend at the State Summer Games at Ohio State and full week at the World Games in Berlin, Germany where the athletes and unified partners won medals and ribbons in their sports contested in Columbus and Berlin. I will keep practing my bowling and looking forward to Swimming season in late Fall. Thank you again for your support.
