I was at the State Indoor Winter Games 2023 at Bowling Green State University. Cooper Pool is not the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion because of its limited space and very steep steps. Found out that the Northeast and Northwest Regions did swim on Saturday, and South Central and Southwest Regions competed on Sunday. My team Franklin County Special Olympics did not stay Friday near BGSU, but left on Saturday and only spending one night at a hotel in Findlay. I did not like that. I would rather had all the teams there for two days of swimming competitions. The positive things were winning 2 Gold medals in the 100 Freestyle and 4x50 Unified Freestyle Relay; and a Bronze in the 100 Backstroke. I would still rather have the State Swim Meet back in Columbus at The Ohio State University McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. I am still fighting and will not give up in getting the State Swim Meet for Special Olympics Ohio back to its rightful home of Columbus and the Reinstatement of Regional Bowling Tournament Qualifiers instead of that League Play crap.
