I am 22 signatures away from trying to "Returning the State Swim Meet for Special Olympics Ohio back to Columbus, Ohio" back at The Ohio State University McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. However, I just signed a petition to "Eliminate the Maximum Effort Rule at State of Ohio Special Olympics Swimming" which two of my teammates from Franklin County Special Olympics and many others (about 72 people) got disqualified from the swimming event at the State Indoor Winter Games for Special Olympics Ohio at Bowling Green State University recently. It may have affected to you or someone you know that got DQed for swimming to fast. The petition has almost 600 signatures and need to get to 1000. I signed the petition to eliminate this crazy and unjust rule. Swimmers should not get penalized for improvement of their swimming strokes. Shamefully wrong. I would appreciate you signing the petition "Eliminate the Maximum Effort Rule at State of Ohio Special Olympics Swimming" and never happen again at any Special Olympics Ohio swimming qualifiers and the State Indoor Winter Games where swimming is contested. Thank you so much.
