New law that requires a Drivers license to state if the Driver is Deaf.

The Issue

I recently attended an ASL panel at my school and was shocked to know that a few people on the panel had some past experience with police and that it didn't end well. This one person said that he tried to explain to the officer that he needed a translator and he wasn't getting now where signing to the man, the officer was getting frustrated thinking that the driver was playing games with him. In the end, I believe that this situation should not have happened in the first place. If a deaf person is receiving a driver's license it would be no big deal to add a section that informs officials that the holder of the license is impared and might need some extra help to communicate.
