The blood line custodians of the Wannangini (Guringai & Awabakal) peoples directly relating to kinship and cultural responsibilities of the Gosford and surrounding area, along with family, friends and residents of NSW, bring to the attention of the Parliament the signs recently erected by Transport for NSW on the Central Coast, at Bushells Ridge, Catherine Hill Bay, Cheiro Point, Doyalson, Empire Bay and Ourimbah are not erected on Darkinjung Country, but on Wannangini (Guringai & Awabakal) Country.
We the undersigned reject this blatant attempt to dispossess the Blood Line Custodians from their traditional country.
The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to have the ‘Darkinjung Country’ signs removed immediately, as they do not represent the Bloodline Custodians of this region and are an insult to their Elders and Ancestors.
