Mauritius is known for its beautiful beaches and landscapes. However Mauritius has a sinister side, where there is a lot of dogs and cats who are abandoned, malnourished, neglected and some of them are  even left to die. I am doing this petition because in Mauritius there is an institution called the Mauritius Society for Animal Welfare (MSAW) that carries horrendous method  to euthanise stray dogs,  named the 'catch and kill'. In January the l'express.mu published an article about how the dogs are not nourished and the way that they kill stray dogs is to torture them to death by beating them. The dying dog is then left there so that other dogs can eat. This has outraged a lot of animal lovers and NGOs in Mauritius, even the Daily mail in the UK published an article about how the Mauritian government is killing stray dogs. After the incident, the 4 paws NGO have pleaded a case against the MSAW and they are still fighting for justice for the animals. Due to the fact that MSAW is confronted with a case the MSAW have captured  the dog Dobby. Dobby was chosen by a family and since her being locked in MSAW, they do not wish to free Dobby and the case will be called again on the16th of April 2021 and Dobby could be killed on that day. I am eagerly asking people to sign the petition so that Dobby could be freed but also so that changes could be made for animals in Mauritius. Thank you for your participation.
