This is a petition requesting a formal apology from Sheriff Chuck Wright and his deputies for the fabrication of evidence and defamation of character against the citizens they are sworn to protect.

Chuck Wright no longer speaks for the community, but for the oppressors within the community through the use divisive and suppressive rhetoric.

Relations between law enforcement and the citizens of this county will continue to deteriorate if no action is taken for the people’s voices to be validated and supported. 

The intentional fabrication of evidence against the two accused men, and the ease with which Sheriff Wright upheld these allegations shows his lack of morality and honesty while obtaining a high standing position in the community. It seems it is easier for our own sheriff to fight against the minorities within the community, than to fight for us and protect us. If we cannot trust our own Sheriff to uphold the law, what standard does that set for the rest of the community? We must reform and regain our community from the grips of racial division and overt suppression.

Many members of the Spartanburg county community would be highly obliged for the opportunity to speak on their grievances caused by Sheriff Wright and his deputies at a county council meeting with the respected leaders of our community, or permission to hold a peaceful demonstration outside of town hall.
