When you ask anyone in Sparta who their favorite teacher is, I can assure that the majority will respond with Kate Brennan.  Aside from being an amazing educator,  Ms. Brennan is an incredible mentor, inspiration and supporter for all students.  Brennan from day one supported everyone and made them feel welcomed and wanted in Sparta. Through difficult times,  Ms. Brennan has always offered support and help to all. When I was experiencing discrimination at school, I went directly to Ms. Brennan who gave me the support I needed and the hope that we could make Sparta a better place for all people.  Ms. Brennan gave me the advice and assistance that I didn't receive anywhere else. Ms Brennan helped me see that sharing my narrative, could help open the minds and hearts of others. Regardless of the circumstances of her suspension, it is a disservice to her students  for Ms.Brennan to be out. Her classes not only expose her students to the real world, but also give them a new perspective that they never would have seen or heard before. The life lessons and values that Ms. Brennan teaches her students is something that they will never have learned in any other class. Ms. Brennan devotes her time and attention to her classes ,students and ,to the club she advises. Ms. Brennan is the advisor for two clubs, which are yet to be approved. Both clubs (We Are the Dream and Girl Up)  provide a space for the voices of the unheard. They foster conversation about topics that aren't talked about enough. Kate Brennan is a valuable teacher, a remarkable individual,  and we are proud to be her students.
