The galgueros (Spanish hunters) hunt without guns, the greyhound catches up with the game at the race and kills it.
At the end of hunting season, dogs are tortured: Burnt alive, mutilated, rolled, thrown into a well, stung in bleach, tied and dragged behind a car, abandoned in a forest with broken legs ....
Another method is hanging, death is slow because the dog's hind legs touch the ground, agony lasts several days.
The companeros greyhounds or the great martyrs of Spain are part of the 50 000 greyhounds who die every year at the end of the hunting season by their owners.
