WHY SWAFAA WAS CREATED
SWAFAA — the Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Association — was formed because too many Flight Attendants have reached the same conclusion: the current system isn't working for us.
Over time, too many Flight Attendants have experienced a lack of transparency and accountability, decisions made without meaningful member input, financial concerns and broken trust, retaliation or silence when speaking up, and a growing disconnect between representatives and the people they represent.
These aren't isolated concerns. They're patterns. And when the people being represented no longer feel heard, it's time to build something different.
That's why SWAFAA was created.
SWAFAA is being built around a simple principle: the members should decide. Not one person. Not a small group behind closed doors. Not someone else deciding what is best for thousands of Flight Attendants. The members.
The people who pay the dues. The people who live under the contract. The people whose careers and futures are affected by the decisions being made. Those are the people who should have a meaningful voice in the direction of their organization.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
SWAFAA is a bold, member-led initiative to establish a new independent labor organization — one built from the ground up with real term limits, full financial transparency, direct member control over leadership and priorities, safeguards against corruption, and a clear Constitution and Bylaws designed to serve Flight Attendants — not power structures.
We've already formed SWAFAA Organizing Group, LLC in Texas, secured an EIN with the IRS, developed our Constitution and Bylaws, and begun building the website, communication, educational, and outreach infrastructure necessary to move this effort forward.
This isn't just about reacting to what is broken. It's about building a system that works — fairly, lawfully, transparently, and with the members in control.

This is not an election campaign. This is not a protest. This is not backed by corporate donors or political machines.
SWAFAA is a grassroots movement created by and for working Flight Attendants — and it belongs to all of us.

WHAT WE ARE
SWAFAA is currently an organizing initiative and is not yet a certified labor organization. We are laying the legal, financial, administrative, technological, and strategic foundation necessary to establish an independent labor organization for Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants.
We're building it around principles we believe should never be compromised: transparency, accountability, member participation, responsible financial stewardship, and a genuine voice for the people being represented.
Because we don't want to simply build another organization. We want to build one that deserves the trust of its members.

THIS IS WHERE REAL CHANGE BEGINS
Real change doesn't always start in a boardroom. Sometimes it starts with one person saying, "There has to be a better way." Then another person says it. Then ten more. Then hundreds.
Eventually, people stop waiting for someone else to make the change. They start building it themselves.
That's what SWAFAA is doing.
