The proposed development at 74-84 Long Lane will adversely affect the lives of all residents in the surrounding area to an unacceptable degree because the block is too high, too close to adjacent existing homes, and completely out of character with the area. This will decrease sunlight and daylight to surrounding buildings, as well as imposing gross loss of privacy to the dwellings immediately next to the proposed development in Southall Place, Pilgrimage Street, Long Lane and Crosby Row.

The proposed use is short term letting to young professionals and office space, neither of which provides affordable long-term housing, which is critically needed in Borough.
