The facilities at the Southpark Crossing Apartments have been closed all summer due to COVID-19. This was in line with everything else happening when the entire state shut down. However, businesses have re-opened and have taken steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as social distancing, limiting capacity, enter at your own risk waivers, and scheduling ahead of time. Every other apartment complex in the area has reopened their pools, business centers, gyms, etc. following similar precautions. The management team continues with the same reasoning for keeping the facilities closed, saying that COVID cases still remain. It was recently announced by the CDC that only 6% of COVID deaths were solely from COVID-19, meaning 94% were complications involving an average of 2.5 other diseases/illness. For the average healthy person, the risk is far less than we initially thought.

 We all pay for the access and upkeep of these amenities, yet no longer have access to any.  The facilities add value to the property and play a part in determining an individuals reason to choose to live here. By all means, if you are not comfortable using these facilities, it is your freedom to avoid them. If you are like myself and want to use the facilities you pay for every month, please sign this petition. We are not asking for anything special, just that our property management team treat us with the same respect and dignity every other complex treats their residents, by allowing us to use what we rightfully pay for.
