Strong's Boat Storage Project proposal to cut down 630 mature trees and build a pair of yacht storage buildings totaling 101,500 square feet on the banks of Mattituck Creek on Long Island’s North Fork is moving forward in the review process. The Town of Southold Planning Board has accepted for public review the Strong’s Yacht Center Proposed Boat Storage project draft environmental impact statement (DEIS).

Now is the time to learn more about the proposed construction and voice your opinions! In this informational webinar, local activists Anne Sherwood Pundyk and Stephen Boscola of Save Mattituck Inlet will provide background on Strong’s Boat Storage and highlight some key points of the DEIS. Louise Harrison of Save the Sound will apply her extensive experience as a professional environmental analyst and SEQRA practitioner in a presentation on how to evaluate and respond to a DEIS and how to engage as a citizen in the process.
