Dear SIUE and Randall Pembrook,

Racial inequality is not a joke to this student body. We deserve more than a single email to prove that SIUE is taking instances of discrimination and racism seriously. We demand transparency and we demand that the details of SIUE's internal investigation into this matter be revealed to all students and faculty. We cannot accept the charges filed against Kaliyeha Mabins or the exoneration of Jimmi Thull until both are proven to be just and deserved.

During this month focused on black heritage, do not forget that the names of black people have been slandered continuously in our courts and in the media. Instances of racism not just being ignored, but being denied completely by institutions of power in the US are innumerable. If you, SIUE, truly stand behind your promise to stand against racial injustices, then you must show your students that you are dedicated equally to exposing false accusations AND to proving that these accusations are truly false.
