THE COUNCIL HAVE REFUSED THE SCHOOLS REQUEST TO HAVE A CROSSING INSTALLED OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL GATES!!!!  THIS IS MADNESS, WE MUST ACT.

We have a very busy main road outside the gates of our primary school.  The council has recently spent a lot of money resurfacing the roads nearby and adding speed restrictions to a neighbouring road yet the one outside the main gates of the school remains a death trap. At rush hour times when the children are travelling they are forced to run the gauntlet every day.  The council saw the need to install a zebra crossing further up the road but it is too far away to be of any use to the school. Our lollipop lady also retired last year and the council have still not replaced her. Moorlands Primary School has been requesting a safe crossing for a while now but recently received notice from the council that their request had been refused. I don't know what the price is on the safety of a child but apparently the council do and have deemed it acceptable.  We cannot let this happen. Please find 5 minutes to sign this petition.
