Officials with Humane Society International say groups in the area, including Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, Animal Welfare League of Arlington and the Washington Animal Rescue League, will care for the animals and help place them in adoptive homes. Twelve of the dogs will arrive in Alexandria on Monday. The rest of the dogs will arrive on Tuesday, say officials.
