Animal protection laws in South Korea are either non-existent or not enforced, and therefore, millions of animals suffer and die while the vast majority of citizens look the other way. Now it appears that any person willing to stand up for animals and remove them from life-threatening situations will be actively and severely punished while those who torture and starve animals are rewarded.

South Korea has made such great progress in many respects, and it is obvious that its citizens are capable of amazing things. It is time that the nation as a whole recognizes the inherent worth of animals as living beings and works toward ending animal abuse rather than punishing those who have the courage to stand up for what they know is right.

Please read the story about So-Youn Park and sign the petition.  This woman should be given a medal for what she does for animals, not a sentence for inconveniencing a dog meat farmer.
