Petition updateSouth Korea, Torturer of Dogs and Host of the 2017 World Veterinary Congress?! Speak Out!Final Signatures and Request Delivered to the WVA
Stop the Dog and Cat Meat Trade Worldwide
Sep 6, 2017
Thank you once again to everyone who signed, shared and promoted this petition. Given that the WVA 2017 Congress has finished, I've closed the petition and delivered the final signatures to the WVA with a request that they continue to spread awareness about the dog meat trade. Please see "LETTER TO WVA - 06 Sept 2017" below.
Though this petition project is complete, this is not the end of working with the WVA to help end the dog meat trade worldwide - just a stepping stone along the way! We thank the WVA for being gracious with their communications and helping to shed light on this barbaric industry by allowing the presentation "Dog Meat Production in Asia" during the Congress.
Please remember to support Nami Kim and Save Korean Dogs, who are working with the South Korean government to end the trade and making significant strides.
Many thanks,
Jenny Wilkins
LETTER TO WVA - 06 Sept 2017
Hello Zeev,
Thank you for your previous communication. I'm pleased that the WVA addressed the issue of the dog meat trade openly during the 2017 GSAW. I have been in contact with Professor Natalie Waran who has kindly informed me that the presentation by Dr. Hey Won Lee was excellent and showed some of the the harrows of dog meat production with scientific data.
As the WVA Congress has finished, I have closed our group's petition, which reached nearly 25,000 signatures (link: https://sigmasys1.sharepoint.com/sites/Sigma/SharedSvc/Documentation/SecureLib/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2Fsites%2FSigma%2FSharedSvc%2FDocumentation%2FSecureLib%2Fz_Archive%20Project&FolderCTID=0x012000ED454A85C52D6B499FD1130C41FB7481&View=%7BC32FE18A-08CB-40CA-8EF3-53DD77A4F701%7D). Final signatures are attached.
I would like to thank you for your continued correspondence and the WVA for giving the dog meat trade particular attention at the Congress. I truly hope that the WVA will continue to help bring awareness to this cruel and barbaric trade going forward and also refrain from hosting future Congress events in countries where the dog meat trade is rampant, such as China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam and others. As you may be aware, these countries are targets of a growing worldwide boycott due to their dog meat industries.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Jenn
