Thank you again to everyone who signed, shared and promoted this petition. I am continuing communications with the WVA, having delivered the current signature count and following letter to the WVA Secretary and Policy Officer earlier today. Our group have asked that the WVA allow Nami Kim and her elected veterinarian, Dr. Myung to present at the Congress - we know they will speak factually and authentically about the Dog Meat Trade! Fingers crossed the WVA is open to this request. You can also contact the WVA (http://www.worldvet.org/contact.php) and ask them to allow Nami Kim a slot in the agenda to present about the Dog Meat Trade in Asia! If you do contact the WVA, please be polite, sincere and informative. Thank you all! ------ Letter text sent ---------------------- Dear Zeev, Thank you again for your continued communication with me in relation to WVA support for addressing the Dog Meat Trade in Asia, namely at the WVA Congress planned later this year. Please find attached documentation showing the latest signatures, downloaded today, 07 March, for our group’s petition. The growing number of signatures reflects just how important the issue of the Dog Meat Trade is to animal lovers and pet owners worldwide: https://www.change.org/p/boycott-the-world-veterinary-congress-in-south-korea-toxic-torture-hell-for-dogs-cats. Dialog with WVA - Urging them to Allow Nami Kim to Speak at the Congress! My group would like to make a sincere, urgent request of the WVA, specifically, that you allow two esteemed animal-welfare professionals in South Korea to speak at the Congress, to augment or follow the currently scheduled presentation on the Dog Meat Trade in Asia. Both are local, highly respected members of the community, renowned for their dedication to animal health and welfare in the Seoul community: - Dr. Myung Bo Young, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), and - Nami Kim, Founder & Director, Save Korean Dogs Sanctuary, savekoreandogs.org Given their extensive experience working with animals from the Dog Meat Trade in a context local to the Congress location this year, our organization is confident that Dr. Myung and Nami Kim would enrich the conference by bringing real-life, recent insights and experience as well as solid medical data around dog meat consumption. Would it be possible to arrange for them to speak for 30 minutes at the Congress? If this could be arranged, I will update our petition supporters that the WVA have been highly responsive and courteous to our request and then we will close this petition. I will eagerly await your soonest reply. Kind Regards and Many Thanks, Jenny Wilkins, Stop the Dog & Cat Meat Trade Worldwide https://www.facebook.com/groups/1477398962574778/
