Garda Station for Adamstown, Lucan, Co. Dublin

Garda Station for Adamstown, Lucan, Co. Dublin

Adamstown is a planned suburban development and Ireland's first Strategic Development Zone, is expected to be on 220 hectare of land just south of Lucan, and approx. 16 KM from Dublin City Centre.
First infrastructure work officially commenced on Feb 2005, since then 3500 houses has been built and approx. 15000 people already lives here.
When the town is fully developed, there will be 10000 houses with expected population of 52000.
Housing development at Adamstown has seen work at war level since 2016. New families are moving to their dream home every day hoping to live happy and feel safe.
Adamstown won a "Sustainable Communities" award from the UK's Royal Town Planning Institute (Ref: http://www.archiseek.com/2009/adamstown-wins-planning-award/ ). It was the only non-UK project to pick up a prize at the annual awards ceremony and was entered by South Dublin County Council and Chartridge, the developers (comprising Castlethorn Construction, Maplewood Homes and Tierra Construction). The award recognizes that Adamstown has been properly planned and balances living accommodation with infrastructure, such as shops, cinema, train station, swimming pool, library, health centers, restaurants, schools, mixed places of worship and parks, among other facilities.
The one thing which was missed in planning is Garda Station. Currently Adamstown depends on Garda Station at either Lucan or Clondalkin.
Lucan Garda station is 4 KM away from houses at Adamstown. Travel to Lucan Garda Station with current population can take up to 30 minutes at peak time.
Clondalkin Garda station is 7 KM away from houses at Adamstown. Travel to Clondalkin Garda Station with current population can take up to 45 minutes at peak time.
While new houses are being developed ( By end of 2023, The Crossing is going to have 975 apartments, Tandy Lane with 700 houses and Aderrig with 500 houses), traffic will be very busy and reaching to Lucan Garda station can take up to an hour in peak time.
Adamstown depending on near by Garda Stations (Lucan or Clondalkin) will not provide timely help/safety when fully occupied. Adamstown need its own Garda Station to control the crime and Garda to reach places quickly as possible.
