In an unpredictable turn of events, Katharine Lemansky (Katie Brown) was located in Cary, NC. Per the attached article, she must appear in court on Dec. 14th, faces monetary fines and potential jail time. The police could not find evidence that the dog had been injured, and verified that the dog is well-cared for, therefore the pup was not removed. We will deliver this petition to the police department in Cary tomorrow to emphasize the intolerance the public maintains towards animal cruelty. This petition was mentioned in news sources, and it was a great way to join together for this cause. We were heard and our point has been made. Unfortunately, animal cruelty is still a large issue worldwide with "festivals" dedicated to animal/pet torture and many countries do not have laws to protect animal welfare. We were recently reminded that it still occurs even in our own communities, but with the kind of support that this petition gained, we can make progress every day.
