For 12 years I have been going to school with my classmates. The Board of Ed has announced that graduations will be individual and each student will only be able to bring up to 4 people to attend. After being with my classmates for 12 years myself and many others have hoped to be able to graduate with our friends.

Our idea to graduate together rather than individually would be as follows:

-An outdoor ceremony in a large area

-Social distancing between families (groups of seating)

-Masks are required 

-Less audience attendance (each student can bring their immediate family)

I think this is possible if we postpone it until July since everything is starting to open up anyways. My hope is to have a social distance graduation with my friends and classmates and my family there too.

It is important to remember high school graduation is an important milestone in ones life, and an individual graduation would be heartbreaking to the class of 2020. If a more normal graduation is possible then it should be implemented.
