Recently, North Carolina legislators passed a bill designed to ban squatted trucks in the state. That ban now goes into effect on Dec 1. Drivers who ignore the law can get their license suspended for a year. 

This petition is designed to show similar interest in South Carolina to follow the recent legislation of our neighbors in North Carolina. 

Squatters have limited visibility and put pedestrians and other motorists at risk. Additionally, 'Carolina Squatters' have been reported to drive carelessly, known for pealing out in parking lots and along South Carolina roads, revving their engines with high decibel exhaust modifications, and having a general disregard for other motorists in most cases. 

We, as South Carolina residents are calling on our State legislators and Govorner to explore legislation to ban squatted vehicles in South Carolina.
