According to information in the local press, SAC have recently published the figures for refurbishing the existing Citadel - £22.7m. This represents approx. 50% of the cost of the proposed (inferior) Leisure Centre.

These figures have been known since 2020 - but SAC had already made their mind up to build the new facility.

The public consultation was completed in May 2021 - some 2 years after the initial proposal. Maybe they should have asked the public earlier.
