Do you have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis, or want to get the Cervical Cancer Vaccine?

Your Medical Aid will refuse to pay for it, citing that it is not included in the Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB) , as set out by Government Legislation. (Package under Section 29(1)(o) of the Medical Schemes Act)

However, it is, in fact, included.

We aim to gather enough signatures, to force Government to acknowledge these conditions, AND force Medical Aids to actually adhere to law, and cover our treatments for these conditions!!!

1 in 10 women suffer from PCOS or Endometriosis, affecting fertility and causes additional health problems. 

An estimated that 4,210 deaths from Cervical Cancer will occur this year.

Under the PMB list of Code 528M states:

CONDITION: Menopausal management, anomalies of ovaries, primary and secondary amenorrhoea, female sex hormones abnormalities NOS*, including hirsutism

TREATMENT: Medical and surgical management, including hormone replacement therapy

*NOS - not otherwise specified

This means, that Medical Aids HAVE to include PCOS and Endometriosis on their Chronic Benefits.  And since Cervical Cancer is preventable via the Vaccine, (and they cover other vaccinations), the HPV Vaccine should be covered too!!
