The ECDoH is threatening to not absorb the 2021/2022 ComServe cycle. Most of these community service nurses have been verbally told by their Managers that there will be no employed for them, while others have already recieved termination letters.

The group of Comserves strongly disagrees with the decision that has been made( especially with the great shortage of Nurses in the Eastern Cape) as it writes off the hope and the promise of job security. Nurses are the backbone of the health system, such treatment is so unacceptable.

As you read this petition, think about those who have families to feed; those who have worked so hard to get into the nursing department in order to take their families out of poverty. Ask yourself “is this how all future Community service nurses are going to be treated?; being used as a workforce then pushed out the door after that?; being told to go find your own employment with ZERO experience?

This is to beg for any form of assistance in order to ensure the permanent employment of EC Comserve nurses 21/22. Power to the Nurses! Power!
