Newley appointed Environment Minister Mokonyane released the poaching statistics last week for the year ending 2018.
According to the Department of Environmental Affairs there was a significant drop in rhino poaching cases especially in the Kruger National Park.
Questions were imeadiately raised when comparing the reported number of incursions.
We believe that there are far fewer rhinos to poach, South Africa has lost half its total number of rhino to poaching. Also the increase in elephant poaching figures in the KNP seems to suggest that poachers are turning to elephant, something that we have feared for years.
Reports today, included below, such that the figures are suspicious.
South Africa does not need further negative commentary with regard to inaccuracies and hints of corruption.
