The new South African Minister of the Environment presented the official updated rhino poaching statistics for the year 2018.
We need to look at the meaning behind the figures, we need an understanding of what these figures represent.
The truth of the matter is that South Africa has lost an alarming amount of rhino in the past ten years. The real reason why the poaching figures seem to have declined is because perhaps there are not so many rhino left to poach? The sharp increase in elephant poaching in the Kruger National Park seems to suggest the answer to my question.
We continue to praise the incredible work of our rangers, the anti-poaching units, the vets, the scientists, the conservationists, the teachers and scholars, the politicians, the celebrities, the NPO’s, the donors and the media, every human around the world that helps to raise awareness for these incredible animals.
