Tour of the Graham Street neighborhood with the Sound Transit Board

Hi all, There is a tour scheduled to show the Sound Transit Board around the Hillman City/East Beacon neighborhood (where our new station will hopefully go) on the afternoon of May 28th. If you're interested in helping advocate for the Graham Street Station, it would be great to have you there! Details below. Dear Transportation/eTOD Advocates: Please join Sound Transit Board Members and staff, Filipino Community of Seattle, Martin Luther King Business Association, Homesight, Transportation Choices Coalition, OneAmerica, South CORE, Puget Sound Sage, Regional Equity Network and other transportation advocates for a private walking tour of the Graham Business District, led by MLKBA board member Susanna Tran: Thursday, May 28th, immediately following the conclusion of the Sound Transit Board Meeting, at approximately 4:30pm, in front of Viet-Wah Superfoods, at 6040 Martin Luther King Jr Way S., Seattle, WA 98118. Feel free to forward to advocates who may be interested in joining the movement for an equitable build-out of Graham Street Station! Tour highlights from past tours include sampling of locally sourced ingredients at the Viet Wah supermarket, as well as pennywort mung bean (rau ma dau xanh) drinks, moon cakes, and eggrolls at Tony’s Bakery and Deli. The tour will conclude with a walk through the lovely Buddhist Temple grounds overlooking the MLK/Graham intersection. We plan to dine afterwards at Franklin Chau’s Rainier Restaurant (another member of the MLKBA). Community leaders are eager to demonstrate how additional transit service in the Graham Street District would promote economic development and allow rich cultural anchors to thrive in Southeast Seattle.
