Delay the School Board Appointment Until the Newly Elected Members Are Seated
Souderton Area School District – We Demand Transparency, Accountability, and Respect for the Voters

The Souderton Area School Board has announced its intention to accept the resignation of Board Member Nick Braccio and appoint his replacement on Wednesday, November 26 at 12:00 PM—just FIVE DAYS before the newly elected board members are officially sworn in.

This is happening during Thanksgiving week, in the middle of the workday, when many families are traveling or unavailable.

The board has 30 full days to make this appointment.
So why force it through now, before the new, voter-chosen board members have a chance to participate?

There is only one explanation:

This is a power grab. It is undemocratic, unacceptable, and disrespectful to the voters.
We, the residents of the Souderton Area School District, demand that:

📌 The School Board delay the appointment until after the newly elected board members are sworn in.
Elections have consequences. The community has spoken.
The new board—our board—must be allowed to participate in this decision.

Why This Matters

• The outgoing board should not decide who fills the vacancy.
• The voters chose new leadership, and their will must be honored.
• Rushing this appointment undermines trust, transparency, and democratic process.
• No major board decision should be made during a holiday week, at noon, when the public is least able to attend.
• The newly elected members deserve a voice in shaping the board they were elected to serve on.
