We are a group of students in Sophia University who advocate for a free Palestine on campus. We, "Sophians for Palestine" have been protesting, spreading awareness, and educating students since October of 2023.

We as students refuse to let our institution be complicit in genocide. On May 28th, Sophia University released a statement calling for a ceasefire. This statement was not only unsatisfactory, but it was also 8 months too late since October. Thus, we demand Sophia University with the following: 

1. Acknowledgment of the genocide in Palestine.
2. Transparency regarding any exchange with Israeli institutions.
3. Cutting ties with Tel Aviv University.
4. Start a donation fund for UNRWA.
5. Offer scholarships to Palestinian students.
6. Appropriate punishment of assailant PhD student who harassed, assaulted and spat on Pro-Palestinian students, and a robust anti-discrimination policy implementation to prevent this from happening on campus again.
   

This petition is to demand Sophia university to take action and to further pressure the institution to follow through with the demands.

私たち「Sophians for Palestine」は、自由なパレスチナを求める上智大学の学生グループです。私たちは、2023年10月以降、学内でプロテストをし、学生の意識を高め、教育してきました。

私たち学生は、私たちの通う上智大学が大量虐殺に加担することを許しません。5月28日、上智大学は停戦を求める声明を発表しました。この声明は不十分で容認できないだけでなく、虐殺開始から既に8ヶ月も経って出されました。

したがって私たちは上智大学に以下のことを要求します。

1. 今起きていることを虐殺と認めること
2. イスラエル機関との関係の開示
3. テルアビブ大学との提携破棄
4. UNRWAへの支援基金の立ち上げ
5. パレスチナ人学生への奨学金の提供
6. 親パレスチナ学生への暴力行為を行った博士課程の学生に対し、適切な処分を下し、これを理由とともに公表すること。さらに、強固な差別禁止規則と対策を実施すること
