It's been awhile, but it looks as though Sony still considers the Vita to be commercially relevant. Earlier today they released a new firmware update. The last firmware update was in April. How time flies! While I have not yet had the opportunity to test this new firmware myself (for obvious reasons, I always make a backup before updating - takes awhile to backup a 64GB card!), our friends over at HackInformer have assure their readers that if you are still using the PSVimgTools Whitelist hack you have nothing to worry about it. Firmware 3.67 has not patched the Whitelist hack. However Yifanlu, the creator of PSVimgTools, has advised people not to update until he finishes checking everything. I assume he's referring to various non-whitelist related hacks though. This is actually the second firmware update since the PSVimgTools and frontend version have been released. It's almost as if Sony has just given in and let us have our fun. But honestly, I would be surprised if a new firmware update did disable the latest whitelist hack. After all, it's externally applied to memory card backups, not the PSTV system itself. Of course, older exploits like the Fail Mail tricks and Henkaku still won't work on 3.67. But if you're primary need to hack the PSTV is the whitelist, they are obsolete methods by now. In other news, only ninety-five more signatures and we'll have hit 1,000 supporters. Keep 'em coming. :D UPDATE DEC 1, 2017: I have updated to 3.67, and I am happy to confirm that the PSVimgTools whitelist hack is still working. :)
