Release Elmo in Grouchland on Blu-Ray & Digital DVD

The Issue

On October 1, 1999, Columbia Pictures, Sesame Workshop (formerly known as Children's Television Workshop), and Jim Henson Pictures (now defunt from Jim Henson company) released Sesame Street's 2nd theatrical released movie "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland". In the movie, Elmo goes off on a wild adventure to get his blanket from a greedy man Huxley in Grouchland (which was a alternate grouch world lead by a door in Oscar the Grouch's trash can).

The movie has been released on video and DVD a couple of times. It had some re-releases as 2-disc sets with Thomas and the Magic Railroad in 2010 and had international re-releases on DVD recently in 2012. It has sometimes been released on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, etc . But it has never gotten a Blu-Ray or a separate DVD re-release after that.

We are now almost 20 years ahead of the films release and 50 years of Sesame Street's anniversary. And a Blu-Ray and new DVD re-release of the Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland is long overdue. So let's get Sony, Sesame Workshop, and the Jim Henson Company to agree to re-release the movie on Blu-Ray and Digital DVD.

If we were to get a Blu-Ray and Digital DVD release, we should have new interviews with the cast and crew of the movie.
