Provide backwards compatibility support for the PlayStation 4

Provide backwards compatibility support for the PlayStation 4
The Issue
It has come to my attention that the PlayStation 4 console continues to lack backwards compatibility. In a recent interview with PlayStation's Jim Ryan, he explained why Sony isn't exploring this much requested feature. He basically said it was a waste of time and resources only because the first generation PS3 that offered backwards compatibility support, wasn't "ever used." Let me provide a little history lesson for our friend Jim Ryan and our friends at Sony.
PlayStation 2 games were played on standard definition displays. When HDTVs were starting to become popular, the PlayStation 3 was able to use this to its full potential. Meaning that PS3 games were HD and PS2 games were not. Very few people wanted to play standard definition games on a HD display, which would explain why no one used it.
Now when the PS4 launched, consumer TV's remained unchanged. When it comes to resolution, I like to compare the leap between the PS3 to the PS4 with the leap between the PS1 to the PS2. Both leaps still had the same resolution displays, yet they offered more room for developers. The only difference between these two leaps is that the PS2 was backwards compatible.
Backwards compatibility has always been about convenience-Shelving the old console for the newer one, while still having the option to play classic games from the last generation's console. There is no need to charge gamers to play games they already own. You're charging for convenience.
