From having the longest winning streak on Jeopardy with 74 consecutive wins to having the highest average number of correct responses per game overall with an average of about 33 correct responses per game to winning Grand Slam, a 2007 eight-episode game show featuring the top 16 biggest winners in United States game show history to winning Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time to guest hosting Jeopardy longer than any other guest host in the 2021 portion of Jeopardy's 37th season, Ken Jennings has not only become the highest-earning American game show contestant of all time, but he has also shaped the minds of many people for nearly two decades. He will continue shape many minds even further in the years to come if he becomes the new host of Jeopardy. 

Jennings has also shown an abundance of respect for Alex Trebek. When he guest hosted Jeopardy, he closed each episode with the phrase "Thank you, Alex", thanking Trebek for the inspiration he had on so many people. Additionally, the energy Jennings had while guest hosting was similar to how Trebek's was when he started hosting Jeopardy, signaling a high likelihood that Jennings will become as iconic as Trebek if Jennings became the permanent host.
