My name is Romila Khan and I am part of the support group of 5 people who have supported Sadia during this difficult time. I want to talk about the family who have lived here since 2011 and are at risk of deportation. Their case was highlighted by Journalist
Christy Chamy of DN this weekend.

Sadia has now spent 202 days in detention, as Sadia has been deprived of her children, her job, her faith in the future, her everything. Sadia has never been separated from her family, especially Arsh, who is 15 years old. Arsh has autism, epilepsy and a serious mental disorder. He cannot express his own thoughts and needs help with toilet visits, getting dressed and taking his medication and has the mental level of a 2-year-old. How do you explain to a child like that that his mother is not home when he comes home from school ? that he can only visit her for an hour a week and that too at the mercy of friends and family who will take care of the transportation. The time for visits must be booked one to two days in advance.

We have updated certificates from
Save the Children
Habilitation
The neurologist from Karolinska
The social worker
The teacher from the school

All certificates say the same thing, the mother's absence has a very negative impact on Arsh's health and he is going backwards in his development. Nothing seems to make any difference. Not even the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Sadia is also remarried to the children's father, who is a Swedish citizen. I wonder if the decision would have been the same if the father had been ethnically Swedish??

Sadia will also be in prison until February 16th according to the latest decision, which is 8 months in total. 8 months I repeat.

It would have been quite enough for her to regularly report to the police. A place in detention costs society almost 5000 SEK per day. What a waste of tax money??

MV deportation decision 2013-02-28 was incorrect. And in principle, the decision must be reconsidered since it was not considered that her husband was Christian but his religious affiliation must have been on his passport, which has been sent to MV.

The deportation should take into account the significant human impact and the long-term effects on the family who have integrated into Swedish society. And how humane is it to uproot a family who has lived here for almost 14 years?

Sweden should prioritize protecting, nurturing and respecting the human rights of every migrant, especially those who have a long-term presence in Sweden.

Join us in urging the Migration Board to reconsider its decision and stop the deportation of Sadia and her family.
