We support the lighting of the baseball (e.g., John Cross Memorial) and softball fields at the South Complex in Somerset, MA. We encourage the Somerset Community Preservation Commission to recommend Somerset Baseball League's application for Community Preservation Funding to town meeting in 2016 to light the first field - the lower field that is furthest from the road. 

Somerset residents pay a one percent surcharge on the annual property tax assessed on real property.  The Community Preservation Act fund is to pay for various purposes and the state provides matching funds.  What better way to allocate those funds than to enable the boys and girls of Somerset with the experience of playing baseball and softball under the lights.  By signing this petition, we show our support for this project.
