IMPORTANT: CRITICAL MEETING, TUESDAY, 6 P.M. Saunders High 183 Palmer Rd

Anyone who can, please  plan to come: Tuesday, 6 p.m. Saunders High,  183 Palmer Rd.  Our struggle against bad policymaking and  harmful Yonkers noise limits faces a decisive moment.  Two council members are leading the fight—and they have introduced legislation to  return the city to reasonable noise standards. Council Majority Leader Lakisha-Collin Bellamy and Council Member Corazon Pineda Isaac are sponsoring the legislation, and TUESDAY, 6 P.M. AT SAUNDERS HIGH is a meeting of the council's legislation and code committee.

The committee decides what happens next to the legislation, and if they vote to kill it, it may be dead. It could be a very close vote.  It's a five-member committee, chaired by newly elected Tim Hodges. The members include Tasha Diaz and John Rubbo, the main proponents of the higher noise limits. Collins-Bellmay sits on the committee, as does Mike Breen, who previously voted against the ordinance.  Hodges, who unseated  Anthony Merante, is not on the record with a stance.

ON TUESDAY, 6 P.M., AT GORTON HIGH, LET'S HOPE FOR A BIG WIN.  It's crazy that we needed to have such a struggle to put Yonkers in line with other cities in Westchester and throughout the country.

So let's try to settle this in a few days. Hope to see many of you there.
