Over 200,000 people have been reportedly displaced, and hundreds injured, including medical personnel. Hospitals have been damaged, jeopardising access to essential care for the wounded. As a result, many injured have died being re-routed for treatment. 

At least 80 people have been killed & 451 injured in the recent fighting in LasAnod. There are serious concerns about its humanitarian impact

We strongly urge FCDO to work with partners, INGOs & communities in LasAnod to seek safe alternative routes for humanitarian assistance via Garowe or Ethiopia. Not via Somaliland.
