Cuts in opening hours of Dickens Heath Library are proposed to take effect from June 2020. The proposed hours would see a reduction of 26% to just being open 14 hours a week.

The Parish Council is particularly disappointed, having sold their own premises and when co-locating in the first floor of the library in spring last year, were promised their investment would bring about more opening hours for the local library. The parish council now pays 45% of the buildings running costs.

The Parish Council has begun a hard copy petition and have requested I organise an on-line one to support them. Please support the campaign that we are co-operating on but please put your name to only one of them.

I hope to present this petition to Solihull Council at a meeting in the near future.
