FLOODING IN CHESWICK GREEN, SOLIHULL

The Issue

Back gardens and local roads in parts of Cheswick Green,Solihull have been subject to flooding for many years. The recent planning permission to build 220 new homes on land known as 'Mount Dairy Farm', off Tanworth Lane, is adjacent to Mount Brook, which runs at the rear of house in Willow Drive, Coppice Walk and Saxon Wood Road. Bloor Homes have recently begun Phase One of the development but Flood Attenuation works may not begin until this phase has been completed. It may therefore be another year to two years before this work is completed.

We ask that, in light of the national flooding during the winter of 2015/16 and flooding this week in Cheswick Green (9 March 2016) the proposed flood attenuation work is bright forward as matter of urgency.
