Save our trees

Save our trees

The Issue

I live in a heavily built up area in Shirley West Midlands.... luckily we have a beautiful line of mature trees that line the back of our houses ... this space has given me and my young boys much needed natural play especially over lockdown.... It is also a space used by many families in the local area with children and for walking dogs..... Solihull council are planning a development of 450 houses within this area phase 1 of this development has already began.... phase 2 is going to include cutting down the majority of the trees that line the back of our houses.... the only outside play space the council intend to put there will be a small concrete playground.... this disappoints me for so many reasons the environmental issues we are all facing are so apparent to us all and it just seems unethical to cut down such beautiful mature trees within this climate... by cutting these trees down it’s taking away a natural playground for the small children in the direct area.... also as there is going to be 450 more families with noise pollution and more pollution within the direct area the trees will be needed more than ever to counteract this..... and finally the many birds squirrels and wildlife that find home within these trees will have it taken away .... I hope you can help me by just adding your name. Thanks!
