Everyone at Solihull Mind want to express their huge gratitude to all those people who signed our petition and left so many kind and supportive comments which have helped to convince the development group (led by the Principal of Arden Academy) of the value of the horticulture, conservation and sports projects we have run here for the last 21 years; and to withdraw their plan to include our land in their proposed development. We are so happy! We will be holding a ‘Thank you’ picnic at the site some time over the summer, and want to invite all those who have helped and supported us to come along. Below is the joint statement from the Solihull Mind Trustees and Arden Academy Principal. Following a very positive meeting between Martin Murphy, Arden Academy Principal, and Solihull Mind trustees, we can now confirm that the land currently being used by Solihull Mind for their Horticulture, Conservation and sports project will not be included as part of the proposed new school and housing developments. In addition, as neighbours, we are looking forward to working together in partnership to promote positive Mental Health, and help bring in funding towards ensuring that the service is available for local people for many years to come.
